UPCOMING PERFORMANCES - 2010 Feb 14, 2010: David will premiere the role of the Tenor Narrator in Hollis Thoms's new oratorio, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner at St. John's College Annapolis, MD. March 26th, 2010: David will appear on the Chelsea Opera concert Shakespeare in Opera at The New Church - 114 East 35th St in New York City. May 2, 2010: The Richardson Chamber Players present the first book of Brahm's Liebeslieder Waltzes with Sarah Pelletier, Barbara Rearick and David (Bass TBA) at Alexander Hall on the Princeton University Campus at 3:00 pm. May/June 2010: David returns to the Princeton Festival to direct their production of Kurt Weill's The Three Penny Opera at the Matthews Acting Studio on the Princeton University campus. June 13th, 2010: David will appear as tenor soloist in Handel's Judas Maccabaeus with the Concordia Chorale in Red Bank, New Jersey. The concert begins at 4:00 pm at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on 150 River Road. PAST PERFORMANCES - 2010 Jan 15, 2010: David appeared on the Chelsea Opera concert Winternacht at The New Church - 114 East 35th St in New York City. Playing to a packed house, arias and duets from German opera and operetta were presented by sopranos Sara Murphy, Elizabeth Beers Kataria, Jennifer Furst, Michele Paape and Terina Westmeyer, mezzo-soprano Erika Hennings, tenors Antonio Abate and Willie Morales, and baritone Nathan Bahny with Lloyd Arriola at the piano. PAST PERFORMANCES - 2009 Nov 12-15, 2009: David sang the role of Kaspar in the Chelsea Opera production of Amahl and the Night Visitors at St. Peter's Church - 346 West 20th Street in New York City. June 14th, 2009: David appeared as tenor soloist in Rossini's Petite messe solennelle with the Concordia Chorale in Red Bank, New Jersey. May/June 2009: David returned to the Princeton Festival to direct their Young Stars production of The Fantasticks at the Matthews Acting Studio on the Princeton University campus. April 25th, 2009: David sang as tenor soloist in Mendelssohn's St. Paul with the Oratorio Society of New Jersey with fellow soloists, soprano Elizabeth Perryman, contralto Marion Gayle, and baritone Mark Wilson. Dr. Sándor Szabó conducted the orchestra and chorus at Union Congregational Church at 176 Cooper Avenue, Montclair, New Jersey. March 22nd, 2009: David appeared as tenor soloist in Hadyn's Creation with the Concordia Chorale in Middletown, New Jersey. March 17th, 2009: David appeared in recital with pianist Masako Hayashi-Ebbesen in a program entitled Amours du počte which included Schumann's Dichterliebe and Fauré's La Bonne Chanson on the Illiade Saison Culturelle arts series in Strasbourg, France. January 18th, 2009: David appeared with William Tracy on the piano in a recital of 20th century British composers entitled We'll to the Woods No More in Taplin Hall on the campus of Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. The program included The Songs of Travel by Ralph Vaughan Williams, A Young Man's Exhortation by Gerald Finzi, songs by John Ireland and George Butterworth on the poetry of A.E. Housman and folksong settings by Roger Quilter and Benjamin Britten. January 9-10, 2009: David appeared as a guest artist with the students of Music 214 - Projects in Performance singing the role of Eumete in the Princeton University's production of Monteverdi's Return of Ulysses. PAST PERFORMANCES - 2008 December 8th, 2008: David sang the tenor solos in Messiah with the Concordia Chorale in Red Bank, New Jersey with his wife, Anne McKenna as soprano soloist. November 9th, 2008: David directed the operatic revue Senza Vergogna for the South Mountan TheaterWorks at the Robert V. Van Fossan Theatre in the Westminster Arts Center @ Bloomfield College. November 2nd, 2008: David sang as tenor soloist in Mozart's Requiem with the Concordia Chorale. September 27th, 2008: David returned to his alma mater (Rowan University/Glassboro State College) to sing on a recital honoring Clarence Miller. Reuniting with one of his college accompanists, Harriet Lombardelli (Snader), David sang Tosti's Ideale and Whither must I wander by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Clancy Miller was the choral conductor at GSC for many years. The recital was part of a celebratory day of music to raise money for a scholarship fund in his memory. September 7th, 2008: David sang music from Westside Story, Secret Garden, and Sweeney Todd in the revue Together and Apart for the South Mountan TheaterWorks at the Robert V. Van Fossan Theatre in the Westminster Arts Center @ Bloomfield College. June 4rd, 2008: David reprised the roles of the Mad Hatter and the Gryphon (amongst others) in Peter Westergaard's Alice in Wonderland" at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater in Symphony Space, Broadway at 95th Street in New York. The opera's singers included soprano Jennifer Winn as Alice, countertenor Marshall Coid, mezzo-soprano Abigail Fischer, bass Eric Jordan and sopranos Karen Jolicoeur and Amaia Urtiaga. December 1st, 2007: David sang his first Verdi Requiem with the Oratorio Society of New Jersey with Elizabeth Perryman, soprano, Mary McAlee, mezzo-soprano and Arthur Woodley, bass. Dr. Sándor Szabó conducted the orchestra and chorus at Church of the Immaculate Conception in Montclair, New Jersey. November 17th, 2007: A Rose by Any Other Name: Adaptations of Shakespeare: An Afternoon with David Amram. Mr. Amram's guests included Midhat Serbagi, viola; Heidi Upton, piano, Anne McKenna, soprano, David Kellett, tenor, John Ventimiglia, narrator, Gail Merrifield Papp, and Adira, Alana, and Adam Amram. Works performed included "The Wind and the Rain" for viola and piano; "Variations on a Theme from Macbeth from Amram's Piano Sonata; excerpts from Amram's opera Twelfth Night (libretto by Joe Papp); and songs for various productions of the New York Shakespeare Festival. Mr. Amram, who celebrated his 77th birthday on the day of this program, composed music for the New York Shakespeare Festival from 1956-1967. This was my Lincoln Center debut! Van Fossan Theatre in the Westminster Arts Center @ Bloomfield College. September 15th, 2007: David sang scenes from La Traviata and La Boheme with sopranos Anne McKenna, Jennifer Winn, Michelle Petro, and baritone, Dirk McCoy in an operatic revue entitled L'Amour: Opera's Love Songs for the South Mountan TheaterWorks at the Robert V. Van Fossan Theatre in the Westminster Arts Center @ Bloomfield College. June 2007: David directed and sang the role of the Padre in Princeton Festival's Young Stars production of Man of La Mancha at the Matthews Acting Studio on the Princeton University campus. February 25th, 2007: David appeared with The Richardson Chamber Players as they continued their ?Patronage Appreciated? concert series in Richardson Auditorium on the Princeton University campus singing the tenor solo from Bach's Cantata number 78, 'Das Blut, so meine Schuld' and songs by Duparc and Poulenc. PAST PERFORMANCES - 2006 November 11th, 2006: David sang the tenor solos in the Mozart Missa in C Major and the Pergolesi Magnificat with the Oratorio Society of New Jersey. June 2006: David directed Princeton Festival's Young Stars production of Menotti's Old Maid and the Thief. April 15th, 2006: David sang the tenor solos in Bach's Cantata No. 4, Christ lag in Todesbanden and Cantata No. 34 O ewiges Feuer with the Princeton University Glee Club. Dr. Richard Tang Yuk conducted the orchestra and chorus. March 31st, 2006: David sang as tenor soloist in Handel's Solomon with the Concordia Chorale in Red Bank, New Jersey. January 2006: David directed a production Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience with the students of Princeton University's Music 214: Projects in Vocal Performance. Dr. Richard Tang Yuk conducted the university's orchestra. PAST PERFORMANCES - 2005 November 12th, 2005: David sang the tenor solos in the Saint Saëns Christmas Oratorio with the Oratorio Society of New Jersey. July 2007: David sang the role of the Pirelli in Princeton Festival's inaugural production of Sweeney Todd at the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. February 18, 2005: David appeared on a concert with the Princeton University Glee Club and fellow guest artist Mary Nessinger singing lieder by Schubert, Schumann and Mendelssohn. PAST PERFORMANCES - 2004 February 24th, 2004: David appeared with The Richardson Chamber Players singing Schubert songs based on texts of greek and roman legends and characters. |
