UPCOMING PERFORMANCES - 2013 and beyond

May 14, 2013	David is participating in the Spring Semester New York Continuo Collective which is exploring 17th century English, French and Italian songs. The spring concert will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church on West 46th Street in Manhattan at 8:00 pm. Under the direction of Grant Herreid, Pat O'Brien, Paul Shipper and Charlie Weaver, this unique organization provides the participants with the opportunity to learn the art of continuo from some of the best continuo players on the New York early music scene. June 13, 2013	The New York Continuo Collective will take its spring project (17th century English, French and Italian songs) as a a fringe event at the Boston Early Music Festival, at Gordon Chapel, Old South Church, on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 12:00 PM (noon). June 2014	David will sing the role of Mr. Splinters in the Chelsea Opera production of Copeland's The Tender Land. More details to follow...

PAST PERFORMANCES - 2013

April 28, 2013	David sang with the Princeton University Glee Club at Comuniversity. He reprised the Gloria from Ramirez's Missa Criolla soloing with his student James Walsh under the baton of Gabriel Crouch.
April 21, 2013	David sang his first Evangelist (along with the tenor solos) in the Johannespassion with the Concordia Camerata by J.S. Bach under the baton of Jason Thoms at Concordia College in Bronxville, NY at 4:00 pm.
April 12, 2013	David appeared with the The Practitoners of Musick in a mini-recital as part of the Princeton University History Department's 1763 Conference held in the History Department Faculty Lounge/Dickenson Hall.
February to April, 2013	David stage-directed a student composed thesis opera entitled Weehawken by Princeton University composer Flannery Cunningham. The production was presented at the Forbes theatre on campus with performances on April 5th and 6th.
February to April, 2013	David stage-directed the State Repertory Opera's production of the children's opera, Sid the Serpent who wanted to sing. The opera was performanced on April 7th at the Kolo Club, 1422 Grand Street in Hoboken, New Jersey. Visit SRO's web-site for details.
March 9, 2013	David appeared as tenor soloist with the Long Island Choral Society's performance of Mozart's Requiem. After 30 years of singing the Süssmayer version, this was his first outing with the Levin edition. The concert was presented at the Adelphi University Performing Arts center under the baton of Meredith Baker with fellow soloists Kimberly Christie (soprano), Cybele Gouveneur (mezzo-soprano) and Robert Osborne (bass).
February 27, 2013	Hark, how the songsters: David appeared in recital with fellow PU vocal faculty member, Sarah Pelletier and Shiela Kibbe at Taplin Hall at Princeton University. Shiela is the chair of the Department of Collaborative Piano at the CFA School of Music, Boston University. The concert included selections of Purcell, Mendelssohn, Donaudy and duets by Mascagni, Gilbert and Sullivan and Bernstein. The performance capped a two-day residency for Ms. Kibbe in the Princeton University Music Department during which she presented several masterclasses for voice and piano students.
February 22, 2013	David stepped in at the last minute to replace an ailing student to sing on a lecture recital presented at the American Handel Society 2013 Conference at Princeton University. Entitled A Mirror of Changing Tastes: New Light on Miss Baring's Keyboard Manuscript, David appeared with Nicholas Lockey (harpsicord) & John Burkhalter (flute) singing selections from the manuscript by Hawthorn, Giardini and Handel.
January 25, 2013	David appeared on the Chesea Opera concert celebrating the bicentennial birth year of composers Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner singing excerpts from Macbeth and Il Trovatore at Christ & St. Stephen's Church in NYC.

PAST PERFORMANCES - 2012

December 16, 2012	David sang as the tenor solos in From the Song of Songs by Christos Hatzis, a Greek-Canadian composer. It is a 3 movement work, calling for Sop & Tenor soli, string orchestra, and oud, and is a wonderful blend of Middle Eastern and Baroque musical idioms and Bach's cantata 140 with the Arcadia Chorale. The peformance took place at St. Rose of Lima RC Church, 18 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ.
December 11, 2012	David participated in the Fall Semester New York Continuo Collective which covered French Airs de Cour including songs by Moulinié and Guédron. December 9, 2012	David sang as the tenor soloist in Puccini's Messa di Gloria with the Concordia Chorale at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey. The performance was held at the Performing Arts Center.

May 20, 2012	David sang on the enCANTA Collective's concert entitled The Art of Letters. The concert included music by Argento, Cipullo, Puccini, Bizet and Sondheim and was presented at the Rockwood Music Hall, 196 Allen Street in New York City.
May 16, 2012	David participated in the second performanc of the Spring Semester New York Continuo Collective's opera workshop project with performances of selections from Monteverdi's Orfeo, Ritorno d'Ulisse and L'Incoronazione di Poppea. For more information on the Collective, visit their website.

May 6, 2012	David sang Beethoven's An die ferne Geliebte on the Richardson Chamber Players concert entitled Constable & Landscape. This concert was presented in collaboration with the Princeton University Art Museum and featured music by Beethoven, Debussy, Britten and Schumann in the Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall. April 29, 2012	David sang the tenor solos in Handel's Samson with the Putnam Chorale under the baton of Douglas Anderson. The performance was presented at the Temple Beth Alohim in Brewster, New York.
March 25, 2012	David sang the tenor solos in Haydn's Creation at Concordia College in Bronxville, NY under the baton of Jason Thoms.
March 11, 2012	David sang the tenor solos in Carmina Burana with the Princeton Society of Musical Amateurs under the baton of Gabriel Crouch with fellow soloists Jessica Mary Murphy and Brian Duane.
January 21, 2012	David sang the tenor solos in Mendelssohn's Paulus with the Choral Arts Society of New Jersey with James Little at the podium. The concert was held at the The Presbyterian Church in Westfield at 8:00 pm.
February-April 2012	David will be taught and directed the Princeton University Music 214 course with conductor/musical director Gabriel Crouch. This semester the Project in Vocal Performance was be a full production of Benjamin Britten's opera, Albert Herring. Performances were held on April 13th and 14th at 8:00 pm in Richardson Auditorium.

December 18, 2011	David sang the tenor solos in Messiah with the BMCC Downtown Symphony under the baton of Douglas Anderson with fellow soloists soprano Cynthia Simeone, mezzo-soprano Ester Heidi Hickman, and bass Steven Fredericks.
December 13, 2011	David appeared in a Christmas concert sponsored by the Princeton Festival as part of their Bookfair with soprano Sarah Pelletier, mezzo-soprano Sage Lutton, and baritone Jonathan Britt.
December 11, 2011	David appeared in a Christmas concert sponsored by the State Repertory Opera at the Van Vleck Gardens in Upper Montclair.
June 26, 2011	David sang 4 Brahms songs on a program entitled An Afternoon of Chamber Music in Yorktown Heights, NY. The program also included Brahms' Waltzes for four Hands, Trio for Piano, Violin and Horn and Lizst's transcription of Widmung with performers Jennifer Tao (piano), Ray Thornton (piano), Julie Pilant (french horn) and Louise Owen (violin).
June 10, 2011	David appeared in a concert entitled A Musical Tour of Rome with the Practitioners of Musick and Friends at the Princeton University Art Musuem. The performance featured music by Pasquini, Alessandro and Domenico Scarlatti, Handel, Corelli, Vivaldi, Vinci, Valentine, Jommelli and Mozart.
May 21, 2011	David sang the tenor solos in the Mozart Requiem and Haydn Theresienmesse with the Summit Choral under the direction of Dr. Thomas Juneau. The concert was presented at the Prospect Presbyterian Church, 646 Prospect Street, Maplewood, NJ.
April 17, 2011	David sang the tenor solos in the Rossini Stabat Mater with the Glen Ridge Choral Society with Tom Mustachio, music director and conductor. The concert was presented at the Glen Ridge Congregational Church in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.
April 10, 2011	David appeared on a fundraising concert at the Van Vleck House and Gardens in Montclair, New Jersey for the State Repertory Opera company with Bridget Hogan, Kate Hurney, Katy Sumrow and Robert Taylor with Warren Helms at the keyboard. April 8, 2011	David reprised the tenor solos in two of Schubert's part songs for male voices: Nachthelle D 892 and Mondenschein D 875 with the men of the Princeton University Chamber Choir. April 3, 2011	David sang the tenor solos in the Bach B-minor Mass with the Bach in Baltimore Concert Series with T. Herbert Dimmock, music director and conductor. The concert was presented at Christ Lutheran Church, 701 S. Charles St in the Inner Harbor.
February 20, 2011	David appeared on the Richardson Chamber Players Schubertiade with Gabriel Crouch, the newly appointed conductor of the Princeton University Glee Club and Chamber Choir. He sang the tenor solos in two of Schubert's part songs for male voices: Nachthelle D 892 and Mondenschein D 875. The concert was presented in the Richardson Auditorium on the Princeton University campus.
January 30, 2011	David sang on the 10th Anniversary Concert of the New Jersey Arts Collective: Ionization at the Westminster Arts Center in Bloomfield, New Jersey. The program included music by Leonard Bernstein, Steve Reich, George Walker, Charles Wuorinen and Charles Ives. David presented Ives' At the River with Tom Mustachio at the keyboard.
January-March 2011	From January through March, David stage-directed a Princeton University thesis production of a new opera based on Nero entitled Nero Artifex. Composed by senior, Theo Popov, this chamber opera was one of the largest student productions during this academic year with a cast of ten singers, a chamber orchestra of twenty players, chorus and dancers. Over 50 Princeton University students participated in this production. With funding from the Princeton Departments of Classics, Music and Theater, the production was fully-staged with costumes designed by Kerry Brodie '12, a set design conceived by David and Theo, and music direction by Tim Keeler '11 and Flannery Cunninham '13. The premiere performances of Nero Artifex were presented in Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall on the Princeton University Campus on March 24th and 25th. December 19, 2010	David sang the tenor solos in Messiah with the Monmouth Civic Chorus at the Count Basie Theatre - 99 Monmouth Street, Red Bank with Mark Shapiro conducting and fellow soloists, soprano Elisa Singer, mezzo-soprano Silvie Jensen and baritone Andrew Cummings.
December 12, 2010	David appeared as tenor soloist in Hodie of Ralph Vaughan Williams with the Concordia Chorale in Middletown, New Jersey.
November 21, 2010	David sang the tenor solos in Messiah at Concordia College in Bronxville, NY with the Concordia Festival Choir and Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Jason Thoms.
October 15, 2010	David and several of his private students (tenors Vijay Ramani and Saumitra Sahi, baritone Matthew Walsh and basses Brad Baron and Kevin Zhu) sang on a special program: Long Life to Nassau Hall. Appearing with The Practitoners of Musick, they sang selections from music that was performed in Princeton in the 1760s.
September 17, 2010	David assisted Taotao Liu on her Graduate Accompanying Recital at Westminster Choir College in the Bristol Chapel.The program included Nuit d'été by Hector Berlioz, Les Illuminations by Benjamin Britten and the scena, La Poète mourant by Giacomo Meyerbeer.
May/June 2010	David returned to the Princeton Festival to direct their production of Kurt Weill's The Three Penny Opera at the Matthews Acting Studio on the Princeton University campus.

June 13th, 2010	David appeared as tenor soloist in Handel's Judas Maccabaeus with the Concordia Chorale in Red Bank, New Jersey.
May 2, 2010	The Richardson Chamber Players presented the first book of Brahm's Liebeslieder Waltzes with Sarah Pelletier, Barbara Rearick, David, Kevin Deas and pianists, Margaret Kampmeier and Elizabeth Felice at Alexander Hall on the Princeton University Campus.
April 17, 2010	David sang the role of Ahasuerus in the Princeton Glee Club's spring concert of Handel's Esther in Richardson Hall on the Princeton University Campus under the baton of Robert Issacs.
March 26th, 2010	David appeared on the Chelsea Opera concert Shakespeare in Opera at The New Church - 114 East 35th St in New York City.
Feb 14, 2010	David premiered the role of the Tenor Narrator in Hollis Thoms's new oratorio, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner at St. John's College Annapolis, MD.
Jan 15, 2010	David appeared on the Chelsea Opera concert Winternacht at The New Church - 114 East 35th St in New York City. Playing to a packed house, arias and duets from German opera and operetta were presented by sopranos Sara Murphy, Elizabeth Beers Kataria, Jennifer Furst, Michele Paape and Terina Westmeyer, mezzo-soprano Erika Hennings, tenors Antonio Abate and Willie Morales, and baritone Nathan Bahny with Lloyd Arriola at the piano.

David sang as tenor soloist in Mendelssohn's St. Paul with the Oratorio Society of New Jersey with fellow soloists, soprano Elizabeth Perryman, contralto Marion Gayle, and baritone Mark Wilson. Dr. Sándor Szabó conducted the orchestra and chorus at Union Congregational Church at 176 Cooper Avenue, Montclair, New Jersey.

David appeared as tenor soloist in Hadyn's Creation with the Concordia Chorale in Middletown, New Jersey.

March 17th, 2009

David appeared in recital with pianist Masako Hayashi-Ebbesen in a program entitled Amours du poète which included Schumann's Dichterliebe and Fauré's La Bonne Chanson on the Illiade Saison Culturelle arts series in Strasbourg, France.

January 18th, 2009

David appeared with William Tracy on the piano in a recital of 20th century British composers entitled We'll to the Woods No More in Taplin Hall on the campus of Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. The program included The Songs of Travel by Ralph Vaughan Williams, A Young Man's Exhortation by Gerald Finzi, songs by John Ireland and George Butterworth on the poetry of A.E. Housman and folksong settings by Roger Quilter and Benjamin Britten.

January 9-10, 2009

David appeared as a guest artist with the students of Music 214 - Projects in Performance singing the role of Eumete in the Princeton University's production of Monteverdi's Return of Ulysses. For more information, see the Baroque Opera at Princeton website.

December 8th, 2008	David sang the tenor solos in Messiah with the Concordia Chorale in Red Bank, New Jersey with his wife, Anne McKenna as soprano soloist.
November 9th, 2008	David directed the operatic revue Senza Vergogna for the South Mountan TheaterWorks at the Robert V. Van Fossan Theatre in the Westminster Arts Center @ Bloomfield College.
November 2nd, 2008	David sang as tenor soloist in Mozart's Requiem with the Concordia Chorale.
September 27th, 2008	David returned to his alma mater (Rowan University/Glassboro State College) to sing on a recital honoring Clarence Miller. Reuniting with one of his college accompanists, Harriet Lombardelli (Snader), David sang Tosti's Ideale and Whither must I wander by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Clancy Miller was the choral conductor at GSC for many years. The recital was part of a celebratory day of music to raise money for a scholarship fund in his memory.
September 7th, 2008	David sang music from Westside Story, Secret Garden, and Sweeney Todd in the revue Together and Apart for the South Mountan TheaterWorks at the Robert V. Van Fossan Theatre in the Westminster Arts Center @ Bloomfield College.

December 1st, 2007	David sang his first Verdi Requiem with the Oratorio Society of New Jersey with Elizabeth Perryman, soprano, Mary McAlee, mezzo-soprano and Arthur Woodley, bass. Dr. Sándor Szabó conducted the orchestra and chorus at Church of the Immaculate Conception in Montclair, New Jersey.
November 17th, 2007	A Rose by Any Other Name: Adaptations of Shakespeare: An Afternoon with David Amram. Mr. Amram's guests included Midhat Serbagi, viola; Heidi Upton, piano, Anne McKenna, soprano, David Kellett, tenor, John Ventimiglia, narrator, Gail Merrifield Papp, and Adira, Alana, and Adam Amram. Works performed included "The Wind and the Rain" for viola and piano; Variations on a Theme from Macbeth from Amram's Piano Sonata; excerpts from Amram's opera Twelfth Night (libretto by Joe Papp); and songs for various productions of the New York Shakespeare Festival. Mr. Amram, who celebrated his 77th birthday on the day of this program, composed music for the New York Shakespeare Festival from 1956-1967. This was my Lincoln Center debut!

June 2007	David directed and sang the role of the Padre in Princeton Festival's Young Stars production of Man of La Mancha at the Matthews Acting Studio on the Princeton University campus.
February 25th, 2007	David appeared with The Richardson Chamber Players as they continued their ?Patronage Appreciated? concert series in Richardson Auditorium on the Princeton University campus singing the tenor solo from Bach's Cantata number 78, 'Das Blut, so meine Schuld' and songs by Duparc and Poulenc.

April 15th, 2006	David sang the tenor solos in Bach's Cantata No. 4, Christ lag in Todesbanden and Cantata No. 34 O ewiges Feuer with the Princeton University Glee Club. Dr. Richard Tang Yuk conducted the orchestra and chorus.
March 31st, 2006	David sang as tenor soloist in Handel's Solomon with the Concordia Chorale in Red Bank, New Jersey.
January 2006	David directed a production Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience with the students of Princeton University's Music 214: Projects in Vocal Performance. Dr. Richard Tang Yuk conducted the university's orchestra.

PAST PERFORMANCES - 2005

November 12th, 2005	David sang the tenor solos in the Saint Saëns Christmas Oratorio with the Oratorio Society of New Jersey.
July 2005	David sang the role of the Pirelli in Princeton Festival's inaugural production of Sweeney Todd at the Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
February 18, 2005	David appeared on a concert with the Princeton University Glee Club and fellow guest artist Mary Nessinger singing lieder by Schubert, Schumann and Mendelssohn.

February 24th, 2004	David appeared with The Richardson Chamber Players singing Schubert songs based on texts of greek and roman legends and characters.
